Evgeny Shimanovsky Appointed Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eurasian Rating Agency

The First Vice President of the Eurasian Business Alliance, Evgeny Shimanovsky, has been appointed Advisor to Alexander Torshin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Independent Eurasian Rating Agency, as of September 2.

The Agency was established in 2023 on the initiative of President Vladimir Putin, who emphasized that Eurasia needs its own rating institution capable of providing “adequate evaluation tools to support the growing economic activity” across the EAEU space.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors is Alexander Torshin, former State Secretary and Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Russia. The Agency has already begun its work: experts are developing and refining evaluation methodologies, and professional discussions are underway on the chosen approaches. The Eurasian Rating Agency is designed to become an independent alternative to international structures such as Moody’s, which ceased operations in Russia in 2022.

The Eurasian Business Alliance congratulates Evgeny Shimanovsky on his new appointment and wishes him success in contributing to the development of an independent financial infrastructure for Eurasia.
