Eurasian Business Alliance Co-Organizes Islamic Finance Session at Zauralye 2026 Investment Sabantuy

The Eurasian Business Alliance co-organized a session dedicated to Islamic finance at the 8th Zauralye 2026 All-Russian Investment Sabantuy, held on 13-15 August 2026 in Sibay, Republic of Bashkortostan. President and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Business Alliance Andrey Morozov presented a report introducing his concept of Abrahamic finance.

The Zauralye All-Russian Investment Sabantuy is one of the Republic of Bashkortostan's major business forums, bringing together representatives of federal and regional authorities, Russian and international businesses, investors, and industry experts. The central theme of the 2026 forum was “Economy of Victory.”

Islamic finance held a prominent place on the forum's business agenda. The Eurasian Business Alliance acted as a co-organizer of a dedicated session focusing on the development of partnership finance instruments, investment opportunities, and prospects for integrating Russian projects into the international Islamic finance ecosystem.

The Eurasian Business Alliance was represented at the forum by:
Andrey Morozov - President and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Business Alliance;
Evgeny Shimanovsky - First Vice President of the Eurasian Business Alliance;
Alexander Torshin - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Eurasian Business Alliance, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eurasian Rating Agency, and Honored Lawyer of Russia;
Sergey Solovyov - Chairman of the Industrial Council of the EAEU;
Artur Biktimirov - Director of the Ufa Branch of the Eurasian Center for Partnership Finance.
From Islamic Finance to an Abrahamic Model
During the session, Andrey Morozov presented a report on the concept of Abrahamic finance and the development of ethically oriented investment instruments based on physically backed assets.

The proposed approach considers Islamic finance not in isolation, but within the broader context of ethical principles shared by the three Abrahamic traditions - Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. Their common normative foundations include the rejection of usurious income, the requirement for a real and identifiable underlying asset, transparency of transactions, and responsible stewardship of entrusted property.

One practical application of these principles is a digital investment instrument backed by physical gold: without an interest-bearing component, with 100% allocation of physical metal, a transparent asset registry, independent custody, and regular audits.

This approach makes it possible to view Shariah-compliant financial infrastructure beyond the boundaries of the traditional Islamic finance market - as a foundation for investment products based on shared principles of ethical finance and potentially attractive to investors from Russia, the CIS, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

The Eurasian Business Alliance's role in organizing the dedicated session at Zauralye 2026 continues the Alliance's work to develop international investment cooperation and build practical infrastructure for partnership and Islamic finance across Eurasia.
