Kuala Lumpur Today: Meeting with the Russian Ambassador to Malaysia
On September 8, 2025, the President and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Business Alliance, Andrey Morozov, held a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Malaysia, Nail Mazgutovich Latypov. The negotiations took place at the official residence of the Ambassador in Kuala Lumpur.
During the discussions, the parties addressed possible avenues of cooperation, including the participation of Malaysian Islamic financial institutions in the development of corresponding mechanisms within the Russian Federation. Special attention was given to a project aimed at developing Islamic finance in the Republic of Bashkortostan, which envisages the involvement of Malaysia’s Islamic financial institutions with the support of the Russian diplomatic mission. This initiative opens broad horizons for strengthening intergovernmental economic ties, creating new investment opportunities, and establishing long-term partnerships. The parties emphasized that the integration of Islamic financial instruments will expand access to international resources, increase confidence in the financial system, and stimulate the development of innovative projects in Russia’s regions.
In conclusion, it was underlined that cooperation in this area holds strategic significance and creates prospects for establishing a sustainable economic bridge between Russia and the countries of Southeast Asia.
